Corporates / Workshops
I regularly work with Corporates and bring workshops focussed on several areas (and, occasionally) bespoke ones. Workshops include
1. The Importance of Humour in Business (how comedic techniques can help – particularly with presentations/confidence/resilience)
2. A Beginner’s Guide to Stand Up Comedy (a 2 hour 1/2 day or day long session where I teach elements of my beginner’s course and people perform stand up by the end of the session/s)
"A life changing experience that made me a better, funnier person at work and at home."
“Dec’s workshop was massively enjoyable and incredibly insightful. His blend of theory, exercises, and the creativity in the room saw my team’s presence and confidence on the stage grew massively in just a few hours. Since the training I’ve seen the team continue to grow in confidence, applying what they learnt and regularly referencing the theory or tips from the workshop. Your team might be nervous and perhaps question why you’ve asked them to get in front of a mic. That will disappear as soon as they meet Dec. More than anything else, Dec is incredibly perceptive and attentive. He was able to identify where and why people were struggling and offered personalised feedback on how to overcome their challenge.. I can’t recommend his training enough!”
Dec’s brilliantly engaging workshop skipped between insights into how comedy writing and performances are constructed, clips of live shows, and discussion. He got us all laughing and then (sneaky!) drew us into an unexpectedly profound discussion about the interplay between the personas that we bring to a professional setting and our “true selves”, and how we can make that dynamic work for us. The session got a staff of diverse ages and backgrounds to open up space for self-reflection. It led to lots of discussion, and of course plenty of internet searches to see more from the amazing performers he had introduced us to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something a bit different, that smuggles the insight of a training session into something that feels much more like a social event.
